I also hooked up my I-pod through the aux and it sounded awesome also. Very easy to use.
I just wanted a simple, easy-to-use radio without all the extras. I looked in all the local stores and on the Internet for a radio for my office.
I am amazed at the sound quality -- so much better than any just simple radio I have ever owned. I kept coming back to the Crosley CR221 on the Internet, but it was out of stock everywhere.
It finally was restocked at Target last week, so I went out and bought it. The tuning knob is so much better than digital because you can really fine-tune and get rid of the fuzz and static.
This is an excellent value -- under a hundred bucks for awesome sound.
The radio has "just the right balance of treble, bass and midrange" in my opinion. I bought two of these radios-one from Amazon, and one from a local Target store. It is very to use--there are no multi-function and confusing controls on the Crosley: It's simple--the selector switch is for am, fm, and aux. WOW. Was I surprised at the sound quality of this gem. Also, I use the "output" port on the back to record directly off the radio onto my cassette tape deck. The tuning is easy and very accurate--both the AM and FM have excellent sound quality. The receiver gets a lot of stations.I recommend this radio--a great performer at a nice price.
Its the first simple radio I have ever owned that simply quit working for no reason. Would I buy this again.
This radio works very well while it actually worked. The unit can pull in even some of the weakest radio stations and the speaker can fill a room.
I bought this radio for its retro good looks. Not happy at all that it simply quit working.
However, after 6 months of use, it just stopped working. Until it stopped working, I used it 5-7 hours a day.
No. Junk.
This radio is for a countertop in the kitchen and having a major piece of hardware like an AC adapter trailing behind it sort of ruins the look. Had to take it back due to extremely large AC adapter. Very nice radio no doubt. But.nice radio. With Tivoli (and others) the AC power unit is contained within the radio itself and there is just a simple power cord that plugs into the wall and the radio. Wasn't expecting a massive power transformer that sits outside the radio. Too bad about the adapter. [.].
I paid @70 before taxes and I'm not disappointed. There is not much I can add which wasn't written. This radio called to me when I saw it, and yes, I was aware of the large power adapter. The sound is warm, and wood is such a relief from plastic casings. You could do a lot worse. big sound for the size, I consider it my poor man's Bose.
